This series of works originates from the relationship with my domestic environment as mediated by sounds. I have noticed that the sense of place and intimacy has always been accompanied by a discreet and continuous sound which usually goes unnoticed. Curiously it becomes present as it ceases. When it is absent it creates an almost unpleasant vacuum, when it returns it irradiates a soothing quality in the room. That sustained sound becomes also a place of its own.

The works shown here use two strategies, one that understands the domestic murmur as found musical material and another one that suggests through a silent image a type of sound that only resonates in one' s head.

今回の作品シリーズは、家庭環境の中での

音が媒介する関係性を発端にしています。

自分の居場所や親密性に対する感覚には、

普段意識されないような控えめで連続的な

音を伴っていることに、最近になって気付き

ました。不思議なことに、その音が止むとそ

の存在に気付きます。音が止むと不快なほど

の真空状態になり、音が戻ってくると癒され

るような感覚が部屋に広がります。その控え

めで持続的な音それ自体が、ひとつの空間

になるのです。

今回展示する作品には2つの手法―ひとつは

家庭内のざわめきを音楽の素材として扱い、

もうひとつは無音のイメージにより脳内だけ

に響くような音を暗示する方法―を実践して

います。

1980年カラカス（ベネズエラ）生まれ。ベルリンを

拠点に活動。2016年ベルリン芸術大学大学院

（Sound Studies）修了。アコースティック・ギターや

ピアノなどの弦楽器や、ケーブル、モーター、工具、

石、鳥の羽、冷蔵庫の部品などを素材として、音を

取り入れた作品や音楽を制作する。これらの作品

は主にフラットなコード中心の作曲として機能し、

音楽とサウンド・アートの中間領域にある音の風景

を作り出している。
